With DataCore, you can preserve past investments and avoid hardware vendor lock-in while modernising IT. Digital transformation means embracing new technologies and modes of operation, but it simply isn't practical to "rip and replace" your entire storage infrastructure. DataCore pioneered software-based storage virtualisation, and its products have been deployed at more than 10,000 customer sites worldwide. More recently, DataCore has applied its technology to new challenges, including database optimisation through its MaxParallel for SQL Server product.

Data Core SANsymphony is a feature-rich OS that will perform very well on your new CyberStore Storage Appliance. Its an enterprise-class platform that delivers high performance, high availability and contributes to a low TCO. Installing the system is rather straightforward, however if you would prefer to not have to go through the installation process yourself we would be happy to have one of our Broadberry engineers handle the entire set up for you.
DataCore SANsymphony is a very good choice if you are looking for an OS that is capable of great performance. Performance is boosted by the systems high speed caching. It empowers the existing storage assets, leading to an acceleration of disk I/O and business-critical application performance.
Performance is further boosted by the auto-tiering feature. The system intelligently and efficiently optimises usage based on both cost and performance across differing methods of storage. The random write accelerator increases performance significantly, improving workloads that are characterised by many random writes. There are quality of service controls that ensure the high-priority workloads have predictable I/O performance. This is done by regulating the resources consumed by the lower priority requests.
DataCore SANsymphony was designed to effectively maintain high availability. This level of availability is maintained through continuous mirroring of data between different physical locations.
A very important feature in maintaining constant availability is asynchronous remote replication. Disaster recovery and migration to a remote site is quick and simple, distant copies are maintained and kept up-to-date without there being any impact on the local performance. Through continuous data protection and recovery, businesses are able to recover disasters by simply rolling back to a previous state and time before the incident occurred. Creating snapshots and backups is easy, as system images can be quickly and efficiently cloned.
Efficiency is one of the cornerstones of this software design. DataCore SANsymphony was built to get the very best out of its resources. Storage pooling consolidates disks, allowing for the cost-efficient tiering of resources. Through thin provisioning the utilisation of storage is improved, enabling cost saving. Data is transparently migrated, allowing for business operations to continue as normal even in cases of data centre relocations or system refreshes. Deduplication and compression help to reduce the same that is needed to store multiple copies of the same piece of data.
As storage technology continues to evolve, it becomes ever clearer that open hardware is the way forward. Our CyberStore Storage Appliances have been built through a similar transformational approach to that used by the likes of Amazon, Facebook and Google.
Our CyberStore Storage Appliances feature full compatibility to all major storage software. With this rare feature our CyberStore Storage Appliances stand out amongst the rest of the industry as the storage servers of the future. The majority of storage server providers only offer one OS per box. If you want to change to a different software, possibly for functional or efficiency reasons, you won’t be able to unless you buy a whole new box. With us, you will never have that problem. You will be able to change your operating system at any time.
In addition to being fully compatible with all major storage server software, our storage servers are never vendor locked. Many providers vendor lock their products, forcing you to have to buy any accessories you want to use with the hardware directly from them or their associates. This can be a real issue if their hardware is more expensive and less effective than 3rd party hardware you could have potentially used instead. That will never happen with us, we never vendor lock and you will have the complete freedom to use whatever 3rd party hardware best fits your functional and financial requirements.
Over three decades of reliability and cost-effective service has allowed Broadberry to become an established name in the storage server industry. Our hard work, dedication and innovation has led to us winning multiple industry awards and gaining huge international name clients such as Disney, Sky, ESPN, Virgin, Toyota, the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, Rolls-Royce, Toshiba, the BBC and many more.
Our range of CyberStore Storage Appliances mark the next stage in storage technology evolution. They are not only revolutionary but they can be configured from prices below the industry average. We aim to deliver the most manageable storage server prices you will find anywhere. We believe in delivering the very best of both worlds to our customers, the best quality products for the very best prices.

The Broadberry CyberStore range of enterprise-grade storage servers are designed and built for a wide-range of storage applications.
Completely customisable from processing to storage type and capacity, to operating system - the CyberStore range is your go-to storage platform.
The CyberStore range of storage servers are used by the world's largest organisations from the BBC, to the CERN project, governement institutions, universities and much more.
Year-after-year, the Broadberry CyberStore range of unified storage appliances has beaten the likes of Dell and HPE to be crowned "Best Storage Appliance" by PC Pro magazine.
When compared to the likes of DELL, HPE, EMC etc, the Broadberry CyberStore range of enterprise-grade unified storage appliances is up to 60% cheaper, although using the same quality components such as Seagate drives and Kingston RAM.
The Bradberry CyberStore range has been built from industry-leading commodity hardware, and carefully designed to ensuure full compatibility with leading storage operating systems and database engines.
Broadberry enterprise storage appliances are on average 86% lower cost than EMC and 55% lower cost than DELL although built using the same leading-brand server components such as Intel processors and Samsung memory. HPE hard drives are rebadged Toshiba enterprise-class drives, the exact same models as found in Broadberry storage appliances.
When you buy a Broadberry storage appliance all drive bays are supplied with caddies - so if in 6 months time you decide to expand the storage you can source it freely from the marketplace or ourselves if you wish. The only way to add hard drives to HPE servers is to buy the drives along with caddies from HPE for 200% the price of Broadberry's price.
Broadberry storage appliances come with enterprise-grade features like IPMI included, whereas HPE charge large fees for perpetual licences for the same features.
Our website allows you to configure your server online with accurate prices, as opposed to NetApp who require several face-to-face meetings with them before they'll give you a price.
Over recent years there's been a massive move from the world's largest organisations such as Google to purchase their servers from the likes of Broadberry rather than DELL and HPE. This move is fuelled by the rise in commodity hardware.
Before leaving our workshop, all Broadberry server and storage solutions undergo a rigorous 48 hour testing procedure. This, along with the high-quality industry leading components ensures all of our server and storage solutions meet the strictest quality guidelines demanded from us.
Our main objective is to offer great value, high-quality server and storage solutions, we understand that every company has different requirements and as such are able to offer un-equaled flexibility in designing custom server and storage solutions to meet our clients' needs.
We have established ourselves as one of the biggest storage providers in the UK, and since 1989 supplied our server and storage solutions to the world's biggest brands. Our customers include:
